I'm a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher and a promoter of Laughter Yoga in my community. I lead Laughter Yoga sessions at libraries, nursing homes, senior centers, schools, hospitals, and private parties.

I demonstrate the Laughter Yoga exercises to help people breathe more effectively and reduce stress and anxiety.  I am a guest speaker at social and civic clubs and do private sessions with those unable to join Your FREE LAUGH CLUB, which meets regularly at  Perfect Christmas Tree Farm.

Research

Dr. Michael Miller, a cardiologist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, warns that “Heightened stress magnifies the risk of cardiovascular events, including heart attacks and strokes,” as do countless others. Laughter releases nitric oxide, a chemical that relaxes blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, and decreases clotting. Laughter has also been shown to reduce stress hormones and increase the body’s uptake of feel-good endorphins.

Laughter Yoga is a complete well-being workout. It is the delivery system that brings healthful benefits to you. It is an exercise routine involving mindful breathing (pranayama yoga), and mild aerobic exercises that stimulate prolonged, voluntary laughter.

Laughter is a surprisingly complicated process, engaging multiple regions of the brain and the body. Yet Laughter Yoga is easy and accessible. It can be done by anyone regardless of age or physical fitness and the results are long-lasting vitality and enthusiasm for life.
